Dear Golf Club,
We are pleased to announce that Peter Alliss will be appearing at the PAVILION THEATRE, RHYL on Saturday 9th October 7.30pm and a special offer is enclosed for you and your members.
With his father, Percy Alliss, among the finest players of his generation, it was perhaps inevitable that Peter would also make a career in golf. Percy hired Peter as his unpaid assistant at Ferndown Golf Club, allowing him time off during midweek to compete in tournaments. With some degree of success in his first professional tournaments, Peter quickly established himself among the top young players of the time.
Between 1954 and 1969, he won 21 professional tournaments - including three British PGA championships - and was twice winner of the Vardon Trophy. In September 1958, he won the national championships of Italy, Spain, and Portugal in three consecutive weeks.
His first appearance in the Ryder Cup was in 1953, and with the single exception of 1955, he represented Great Britain and Ireland in the event until 1969. He is one of only two father-and-son duos to have represented their country at this level.
Peter made his broadcasting debut way back in 1961, as part of the BBC team covering the Open Championship at Birkdale which was won by Arnold Palmer. His retirement from international golf at the – relatively early – age of 38 led to a full-time career \\\"on the other side of the ropes.\\\" By 1978 he was the BBC\\\'s chief golf commentator following the death of his co-host and great friend Henry Longhurst.
Peter once claimed he\\\'s a golf commentator only because he\\\'s \\\"there as an old player, a lover of the game and a good weaver of stories\\\". Modesty would prevent him saying that Golf Digest described him as \\\"the greatest golf commentator ever\\\" – but to many that\\\'s what he is.

Club Fitting

Tony was successful in completing the PING custom club fitting training programme in Phoenix Arizona at The Scottsdale Ping Headquarters under the watchful eye of John.A.Solheim son of the great Karsten Solheim founder of the Ping Corporation.

Our shop is a Ping Custom fitting Centre, being regarded as one of the best in the North of Wales so if you wish to be measured for your Ping golf clubs our qualified staff will be happy to help, it is open seven days a week to cater for all your golfing needs. As well as a massive stock of all the latest hardware we offer an in depth stock of all the current fashions in clothing and accessories.

Repair Centre

We also have a diamond work repair centre to cater for all repairs. We are renowned for graphite shaft and steel shaft replacements, re-gripping, and all aspects of modern club repairs. With a wide selection of Shafts and Grips you will never leave disappointed and can even be done while you enjoy a drink in the clubhouse!

Lessons

If it is a quick fix or a complete rebuild, Tony and Mark, all P.G.A Qualified staff are on site to help, whether it is to iron out a problem or learn a new skill, we can help. Individual lessons or group coaching, we cater for all ages and abilities and all are welcome. The putting green is perfect to developing individual skills and offers the ideal environment to learn. We cater for everyone's needs!

You do not have to be a member to have lessons and appointments are taken at the weekends and evenings for those of you who work midweek. Bookings can be made by ringing the Professional's Shop on 01244 547401 (Ext1). Appointments should normally be made in advance.

Lesson Fees

15.00 for half an hour on a one to one coaching basis.

25.00 for an ON COURSE playing lesson (8holes, 1 1/2 hours)
